Assemblies of All Types
Assemblies are a group of components that combine into a larger component, such as valves. Assemblies of all types refer to modular systems whose individual elements combine to create a defined component. Breaking a component into assemblies creates clarity for planning and, in turn, for production. Common types including hierarchical, simple, prefabricated, variable, complex, and fixed assemblies, are described below.
Simple Assemblies
Simple assemblies are subsystems that exist on the same hierarchical level. One example is a turned part combined with a sealing element.
Prefabricated Assemblies
Prefabricated assemblies are already put together so they can be inserted into a larger system during final assembly. An example is a preassembled faucet body for showers that ships to the fixture manufacturer with a completed and tested thermostat cartridge.
Variable Assemblies
Variable assemblies are configurable and allow multiple combinations of parts. For example, side valves can be built with the Lifetime headwork, the Classic headwork, or customer‑specific headworks.
Complex Assemblies
Complex assemblies consist of multiple technically sophisticated components. One example is the electronic mixing unit THEBOX by Flühs, comprising a Flühs thermostat cartridge for temperature control, a Lifetime valve for flow regulation and shut‑off, and a Motion 3‑way diverter to operate three different outlets (hand shower, overhead shower, and cascade spout for example).
Fixed Assemblies
Fixed assemblies are standardized elements that always follow the same structure and combination. For instance, a housing with inlets and outlets, a control element (such as a cone or ceramic discs), and an actuator (for instance a spindle) together form a valve.

Flühs Drehtechnik has been manufacturing assemblies since the 1970s. We are now a key system supplier for plumbing and building services worldwide. Our prefabricated assemblies, for example in valve technology, cover a wide range of installation scenarios and enable convenient on‑site assembly. For our side valves, in addition to usual dimensional customization we also offer complete solutions with nuts and gaskets to maximize installation convenience. For the common shower combination of thermostat cartridge plus diverter, we also supply complete in‑wall (concealed) solutions in which both valves are already installed in flush-mounted bodies. The selection of predefined connection elements can be customized to specific customer or end‑user requirements.
